If there’s one thing we love doing, it’s getting home decor and design inspiration from homeowners and creatives in our community. That’s why we started our series House Tours, taking you inside some of the most beautiful homes of Black and multicultural designers, tastemakers, and entrepreneurs. Last season we kicked off House Tours in Memphis, Tennessee, where we were in awe of each home we were invited into.

This season, we made our way to the west coast to tour the homes of four incredible women in sunny South Central Los Angeles. From a 1920s Spanish-style home to a home filled with vibrant colors and textures, there is no shortage of swoon-worthy home decor and design in season two of Home & Texture’s House Tours.

South Central, also known as “Black Los Angeles,” is known for its cultural vibrancy, rich artistic legacy, and its huge role in the development of hip-hop. It’s also home to the four dope women who are featured in this season of House Tours.

Meet The Homeowners:

Ayesha Selden

Ayesha Selden was born and raised in South Philadelphia and now lives in Los Angeles. She works in stock, real estate and is a franchise business owner. Selden started collecting art in February 2021 and has since acquired almost 100 pieces of art.

Tamara McLaughlin

Tamara McLaughlin started her career as a Director of Sales and Marketing for well-known hotels in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and the Westside of Los Angeles. She acted on her lifeline passion for decorative arts after spending years in the hospitality industry. McLaughlin started her own design firm, Tamara Marie Designs. She now spends her time designing and remodeling beautiful spaces.

Marissa Calhoun

Marissa Calhoun is a creative director and marketing leader who loves helping brands craft meaningful and impactful narratives. She is currently an executive at Netflix and has been a key player in developing award-winning content.

René Daniella

René Daniella, known as @ownbyfemme on socials, is a host, content creator, and writer. Daniella is of both English and American heritage and recently bought her first home in Los Angeles.
