Many children of celebrities follow in the footsteps of their famous parents. Whether it’s acting or music, they usually take on a similar job. Not Hailie Mathers, the daughter of Eminem. Instead of becoming a rapper, she took her talents to interior design.
On her Instagram account, @hailiejadehome, the host of the “Just a Little Shady” podcast, shows the renovation of her metro Detroit home. Hailie shows the before and after, where she buys her furniture and decor and gives the reason behind the changes. She also helps her friends decorate their homes and shows that process, too.
What’s great about Hailie’s home design is that it’s attainable. She gets furniture and decor from places like Target, Wayfair, and Amazon, so you don’t have to have a celebrity budget to get the look.
Keep reading to see some of Hailie’s transformations.

Bathroom
Hailie’s original ensuite bathroom was too small, so she extended it up by using the existing walkway above the bathroom. Hailie said she spends a lot of time in the bathroom because that’s where her vanity is, so she decorated it with a faux olive tree from Home Goods, light fixtures from Wayfair, and curtains from Ikea. She had a local builder create the custom floating vanity.

Basement
Hailie decided to turn her basement into a home theater. She moved her old college furniture and replaced it with a much more comfortable beige Crate and Barrel couch. She made the basement comfortable for movie nights with blankets and throw pillows from Target. She gave it movie theater vibes with a popcorn machine from Amazon and movie theater snacks, and pulled the space together by an entertainment center from Lowe’s, perfect for movies, electronics, and extra snacks.

Fireplace
The fireplace in Hailie’s home was in desperate need of an upgrade. The boulder-style stone and the frosted glass backsplash made it look dated. Ditching the backsplash and turning it into a traditional wall allowed for more wall space and the fireplace to be a focal point. The light was able to come in with the two rectangular windows, and the change to beige rectangular stone made the fireplace more modern and sleek. It also allowed a TV to be installed above the mantle.

Entryway
After living in her home for a while, Hailie picked function over design when it came to her entryway furniture. She replaced the minimalistic console table with a bar cabinet with drawers and storage options from West Elm. She placed a circular mirror over the bar cabinet and decorated the top with coffee table books and fresh flowers. The final look is one that’s both stylish and practical, blending elegance with everyday convenience.
