As an actress and comedian, Retta is no stranger to touring the country. But this time, she plans to do so in search of the ugliest house in America. That’s right, HGTV’s acclaimed TV show Ugliest House in America is back and better than ever.

‘Ugliest House in America’ To Re-launch for Summer

Premiering August 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, HGTV’s popular home improvement show is getting a summer makeover — Ugliest House in America: Summer Road Trip. The wild and crazy TV series is taking viewers on yet another journey in search of the most unattractive house in the U.S. of A.

Comedian Retta is set to host the show, traveling to 15 different homes across America to find the least appealing one. Contenders are judged by three important factors: ugly appearance, poor functionality and hideous design choices. Only one of the 15 homes can be crowned the HGTV winner. But a title alone isn’t the only thing the championed homeowner receives. The winner is also awarded a $150,000 renovation by HGTV superstar Alison Victoria as part of its finale.

“As mortified as I am by the nonfunctional spaces and unexplainable design choices in these homes, I’m also drawn to it,” Retta said in a press release. “Like a moth to the ugliest of flames, I need to see and know what the heck is going on in there.”

From lackluster fairytale decor to carpeted handrails, finding the “ugliest house” is sure to be a bumpy yet hilarious ride.
