Home & Texture’s “House Tours” is back for an exciting new season, and this time, we’re heading to the vibrant South. Get ready to explore the charm and style of Atlanta, as we showcase stunning spaces that embody the spirit of the ATL. In the first episode of House Tours, content creator and interior designer Amber Guyton gives us an intimate peek into her cozy bungalow.
In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, Guyton made the decision to relocate from San Francisco back to Atlanta. Guyton purchased a newly constructed bungalow that was built in a craftsman style.
Comfort Is Where the Home Is
“I am all about comfort,” Guyton remarks in the episode. Her living space reflects this philosophy. Seating in her home is adorned with throw pillows in various textures and patterns, inviting intimate conversations and relaxation.
A collection of art pieces above her sofa and along the walls complement her living room’s laid-back style. The centerpiece is an “art display” coffee table thoughtfully arranged with an assortment of coffee table books.
This carefully styled tableau serves a dual purpose: it turns heads, sparking thoughtful conversations, and inspires creativity, perfectly embodying Guyton’s vision of a comfortable yet stimulating living environment.
“Soulful Maximalism” Design Aesthetic
Guyton describes her design aesthetic as “Soulful Maximalism,” a style she characterizes from the touches of brass, gallery walls showcasing Black art, and diverse shapes and textures. This distinctive approach has a deep Atlanta influence, which serves as a wellspring of inspiration for both her personal and professional work.
Guyton’s “Soulful Maximalism” represents a blend of vitality and thoughtful curation. The result is a meaningful interior design style that reflects the city of Atlanta’s rich cultural tapestry and vibrant energy.
Wallpaper Heaven
One of the most striking features in Guyton’s home is her use of wallpaper and murals. You can find wallpaper adorning both walls and ceilings throughout her home. These decorative elements, characterized by different textures and strategic placement, create an environment that perfectly balances eclectic style with chic execution.
Watch the episode below for a full tour of Guyton’s funky-chic home.
