Coming in hot as the most expensive whiskey in the world, The Macallan is 60 years old and recently sold at an auction in London for $2.3 million. Part of a 24-bottle limited series, The Macallan is one of the rarest bottles of premium whiskey that was originally distilled in 1926. For over 60 years, it sat aging in sherry casks in Scotland until 1986. The bottle was hand-painted by Micheal Dillon, a renowned Irish artist. The Macallan bottle is the only hand-painted Dillon bottle in the world, hence why it’s so expensive.

Well-known for its rich and complex flavors, with notes of dried fruits, spices, and oak, it doesn’t match the age of The Macallan 1926, but it certainly matches the quality.
