If you’re planning a St. Patrick’s Day party or gathering, of course, food, drinks and decor are the star of the show. Pair some of your favorite Irish-themed drinks with popular meals and dishes like a classic Irish breakfast, corned beef, Irish soda bread or cottage pie.
Create an Irish-themed bar cart or utilize St. Patrick’s Day decorations to throw a party. Here are some Irish cocktails you can make to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
- Espresso
- Vodka
- Ice
- Bailey’s Irish Cream
- Coffee Beans (for garnish)
- Whipped cream (optional)
If you drink coffee every day, you’ll definitely want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an espresso martini. In a shaker, combine your ice, espresso, Irish cream and vodka. Shake and pour over your favorite glass with ice. Garnish with a few coffee beans. For an extra touch, top with whipped cream then coffee beans. You can even blend this drink with milk and top with whipped cream and coffee beans to make a delicious milkshake.
Shamrock Margarita
Ingredients:
- Tequila
- Fresh Lime Juice
- Triple Sec
- Sour Apple Liqueur
- Sugar (for rim)
- Apple Slices (for garnish)
To make this Irish Cocktail, combine your tequila, lime juice, triple sec and sour apple liqueur in a shaker with ice. Take your glass and rim the top with sugar using lime juice to help it stick. Pour your drink into your glass over ice. Top with one or a few apple slices for garnish. To make your drink even more festive, add some edible gold glitter to it and cut your apple slices into shamrocks using a mini shamrock cookie cutter.
Nutty Irishman
Ingredients:
- Bailey’s Irish Cream
- Hazelnut Liqueur
- Ice
- Whipped Cream (optional)
- Crushed Hazelnuts or Golden Oreos (optional)
The perfect balance of sweet, rich and nutty, the nutty Irishman is the perfect Irish cocktail. To make this decadent drink, combine your Irish cream and hazelnut liqueur in a shaker with ice. Shake and pour in your favorite cocktail glass over ice. Top with whipped cream and crushed hazelnuts. If you can’t find hazelnuts or want something sweeter, top with your favorite crushed cookies or Oreos instead.
Cucumber Mint Lemonade Cocktail
Ingredients:
- Fresh Cucumber
- Lemonade
- Mint Leaves
- Mint Syrup
- Cucumber Syrup
- Vodka
- Agave
- Sparkling Water
- Ice
For a refreshing Irish cocktail, make this cucumber mint lemonade. Start by dicing some fresh cucumber and mint leaves and set it to the side. In a shaker, combine your lemonade, syrups, vodka, agave, ice and sparkling water. Add some ice and your cucumber and mint leaves to your cocktail glass, pour your drink and enjoy.
Whiskey Sour
Ingredients:
- Bourbon
- Lemon Juice
- Egg White
- Ice
- Simple Syrup
A classic drink that every bar and restaurant will be serving on St. Patrick’s Day, make a whiskey sour as your Irish Cocktail. Start by combining your ingredients in a shaker. Since this drink has egg white, you’ll want to shake it without ice for 30 seconds. Then, add ice to your shaker and shake for about 15 seconds. Pour this in your cocktail glass over ice and enjoy this simple and popular cocktail that everyone at your party will love.
Shamrock Shake
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Bailey’s Irish Cream
- Whiskey
- Mint Oreos
- Green Food Coloring
- Peppermint Extract
- Whipped Cream
- Chocolate Syrup or Fudge Sauce
- Cherry
- Ice
Skip the trip to McDonald’s and make a boozy shamrock shake at home instead. To make this boozy Irish cocktail, start by adding your ice cream, Irish cream and whiskey to a blender. Add your mint Oreos, food coloring, ice and peppermint extract, then blend for about 20-30 seconds or until it’s smooth. Pour in your milkshake glass and top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, crushed mint Oreos and a cherry.
