According to the NKBA Kitchen Trend Report, the biggest change in kitchen design over the next three years will be the use of more color. There will be a rise in blues and greens, inspired by biophilic design and moving away from stark white.

“It’s all about unusual and interesting colors, hardware, finishes, and a mix of materials options that allow people to really personalize their kitchen spaces in really thoughtful ways,” says Thom Filicia, Thom Filicia Inc. “Kitchens are becoming more and more lifestyle-driven, and they no longer feel like a stand-alone piece of the home, but instead a fully integrated and thoughtful part of the cohesive design of an interior.”

Induction cooking is in.

Induction cooking is gaining popularity, with the NKBA Kitchen Trend Report predicting that it will be the most favored cooktop in the coming years. Some of the benefits of having an induction cooktop in your kitchen are its modern design, energy efficiency, safety, and ease of cleaning. They provide precise temperate control, allowing for more accurate cooking.

Invest in efficiency with seamlessly integrated home tech.

Smart, integrated technology is becoming a must-have in modern home design. The NKBA Bath Trend Report predicts that tech integration will be the biggest change in bathrooms over the next three years. Similarly, the NKBA Kitchen Trend Report forecasts that tech integration will be one of the top changes in kitchen design.
